New York had its highest daily number of deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday when 779 people died. Governor Andrew Cuomo believes social distancing policies are helping to flatten the curve and urges individuals to continue to strictly practice these policies. (Reuters)

The World Health Organization wants to focus on saving lives rather than politics. WHO director general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus responded to President Donald Trump’s threats to hold or end funding for the organization by asking for unity in the fight to end the pandemic. (AP News)

Roche is partnering with Arrakis Therapeutics to develop drugs to target RNA molecules. Roche is paying $190 million to license the technology from Arrakis and the two will work to co-develop an oral medicine to block RNA. (BioPharma Dive)
